Text

I wouldn’t say that I’m a fountain pen freak (despite owning 6).

I wouldn’t say that I’m nutty for inks (despite having 5 bottles on my desk).

But now that my Visconti Opera FP has returned from Italy, I need to decide upon a new colour for it to hold.

Hayley and I recently bought the Diamine Composers set of inks from our local pen shop http://writeherekitenow.co.uk/acatalog/Diamine-10-Bottle-Ink-Set.html

10 quite lovely looking inks, at least they look nice on the bottle labels:

Schubert: a dark green
Tchaikovsky: a playful blue
Strauss: deep red
Vivaldi: a gentile yet deep purple
Mozart: reddish brown
Händel: dainty lavendar
Bach: dark muddy brown
Beethoven: green that is almost pastel in shade
Wagner: olive green that reminds me of bad 70s wallpaper
Chopin: grey with a hint of blue

I’m tempted to try with Mozart of Bach as both browns have an odd appeal to me. Quite different from anything else I’ve used so far.

2 cups of tea later and much deliberation, Mozart wins the day.

Glad to be making use of the set at last :)
